State of Utah - Jobs Rehabilitation Counselor II in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Rehabilitation Counselor II to join our team in the Downtown Salt Lake City office. This will allow you to practice the latest techniques in rehabilitation counseling while developing strong partnerships with other agencies and programs to help clients enter or reenter the labor market. Principal Duties: The Rehabilitation Counselor II performs the following tasks: Counsels general caseload and corrections-offender caseload. Provides full performance level vocational counseling and guidance,training,and selective job placement services to individuals with disabilities. Partners with members of the halfway houses,as well as other adult service agencies,to ensure individuals with disabilities have the supports needed to successfully achieve independence,and employment. Travels weekly to provide outreach to halfway houses,business partners,community partners,and training meetings. Exercises a great deal of independent decision making. This position may be under filled as a Rehabilitation Counselor I or a Rehabilitation Trainee. Rehabilitation Trainee $16.50 Rehabilitation Counselor I - $18.15 Rehabilitation Counselor II - $19.97 The ideal candidate The model applicant for this position is someone who: Has a Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or a related field of study. (Related degrees are those accepted under category R as defined by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) website . Possesses the willingness to be eligible to hold a state of Utah Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor license within 5 years (To be able to obtain this license you must complete 4,000 hours of disability related work experience as well as sit for and obtain a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification (CRC). Possesses the willingness to travel. Preference points will be given for the following: Current state employees. A LVRC (Licensed Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor) or CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor). One or more years of professional experience in counseling.
