Completing of work order assigned to Fleet and insure that all parts and supplies are accounted for each repair. Keep all fleet vehicles cleaned at all times. Keep a will organize and clean shop area. Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Maintain the college Fleet through preventive maintenance and repair of 200 units of SLCC fleet vehicle, trailers, material handling equipment, and components. 2. Responsible for cleaning returned vehicles in alignment with State and College Fleet standards and ensuring they're ready for active use within the fleet, while supporting vehicles returns, and maintaining any repairs any fleet vehicle that breaks down. 3. Submit completed condition reports to the Fleet Manager or designated account office. 4. Monitor all shop area conditions, vehicles, property and equipment to ensure they are within state and college fleet standards for cleanliness, and proper maintenance and safety. 5. Maintain good operating condition of all equipment. Advise the manager of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately. 6. Ensure work environment is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion, in support of health and safety practices Other Duties as assigned or required. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Provide prompt and courteous service both in person, phone and e-mail, maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment Practice and promote teamwork at all times set a good personal example and attitude and performance. Cover and carry out assigned duties of the Motor Pool desk as needed to maintain office coverage. Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required CDL Class B with Air Breaks and Passenger endorsements Automotive Technical training or trade school degree strongly preferred Hands on work experience as automotive technician in a reputable shop Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Automotive Technical training or trade school degree strongly preferred Hands on work experience as automotive technician in a reputable shop Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Able to lift 75 lbs. fork lift certifiable within 2 months, and have a valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record. Vehicle computer diagnostic experience is helpful. Able to read and understand repair manuals, understand and ability to complete and fill repair orders, good computer and able to operate in wider verity of software used by the college and automotive industry. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
