KIDS ON THE MOVE INC Child Caregiver - Part Time in OREM, Utah

As a three time Best of State award winner, Kids On The Move provides services throughout Utah to children with special needs and their families. Our mission is to support the development of young children through four key programs: Early Intevention, Early Head Start, the KOTM Autism Center, and KOTM Respite Care. Responsibilities and Duties: Implement the planned curriculum, modifying and adjusting as needed to meet child needs Greet parents and children upon arrival and departure, communicating with the parent about the child in a positive and informative way, especially if substituting when children arrive and-or leave. Ensure that parents sign children in and out complete the sign-in-sign-out if not completed (adding your initials) as needed Maintain a safe, healthy, enriched by carrying out the regular daily clean-up of the room, sanitizing toys, and following infection control guidelines and procedures, if present at times when those tasks are normally done Keep required daily documentation (e.g., attendance logs, reports for injury or illness, medication records, infant-toddler feeding, diapering, and napping notes, etc.) Assist and supervise children in accomplishing daily routines, such as naps, meals, toileting, and dressing Follow established procedures for reporting suspected child abuse and-or neglect Follow established emergency procedures for accidents and natural disasters For children in your care, have a knowledge of each child's history, health, and release information Successfully use positive discipline techniques in managing child behaviors throughout the day Continue to expand knowledge and skills in area of job responsibilities Essential Tasks: Maintain accurate records as required by child care licensing and program policies and procedures Assist children with personal care and daily routines while in care, and at the child's level of development. Punctual attendance as scheduled, with immediate notice of illness or inability to attend work. Keep accurate work time sheet (by hand or on computer, as instructed) Implement planned classroom curriculum to meet individual child needs Serve simple snacks as instructed Participate in training as required Provide childcare during monthly staff meetings Other tasks as assigned Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Education in early childhood development (e.g., CDA, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree) is preferred but not required. Experience in providing quality care to young children is preferred. Must pass a background criminal check. Must pass a TB test within first month of hire, certification in First Aid, and certification in infant-child CPR within 3 months of hire. Must obtain Food Service Worker Permit within 1 week of hire. Communication Skills : Must be able to communicate in English in both written and verbal formats in order to read and understand lesson plans, follow snack and meal preparation plans and instructions, adequately communicate with other staff and parents, and read signs and instructions. Some competency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. Organization Skills: Must be proficient at organizing and managing work materials and a personal work schedule. Records must be kept up-to-date, including time sheets, service documentation, task checklists, curriculum plans, etc. Must demonstrate attention to detail by filling out forms and maintaining other documentation completely and accurately. Collaboration Skills: Must perform effectively as a team member by following established policies and procedures, respond promptly to communications delivered through established channels, and resolve problems or differences of opinion within the appropriate team context. Interpersonal Skills : As a part-time Caregiver, individual must be a warm, professional, self-motivated individual capable of working well with other staff and facilitating developmentally appropriate play with
