SMG- Equestrian Park Event Center Equestrian Park Facility Director in SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

Summary SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Equestrian Park Facility Director for SMG-Equestrian Park Event Park. Under indirect supervision of the General Manager, this position will manage the day to day operations of the Equestrian Park and Event Center to include arenas, event stalls, and a long term boarding facility, racetrack and all surrounding areas. This position normally oversees several department managers, semi-skilled-unskilled-seasonal staff members and volunteers. The Equestrian Park operates on a seven day per week schedule, including weekends and holidays. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Dedicated to providing knowledgeable and professional horsemanship in all aspects of business at the facility · Acts as the key facility operational liaison for event promoters, clients and tenants · Must be a visible and constant leader at the Park that is operationally minded · Oversees and works with the Event Manager to service clients throughout the entire event process-lifecycle · Responsible for identifying new and existing programming opportunities · Oversees and works with a Sales Manager to implement a marketing-promotional outreach strategy designed to promote equestrian services and the securing of equestrian events. · Willingness to entertain and book other types of events outside of the equestrian portfolio in order to meet annual budgetary requirements · Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation and tracking of budget for Equestrian Park and Event Center · Assist with and at times take the lead in negotiating vendor service agreements for the facility · Works with the Operations Manager to coordinate schedules for the care and maintenance of horses, stalls, indoor-outdoor arenas, surrounding buildings-grounds and equestrian programs · Adheres to all SMG policies and procedures · Develops annual Strategic Plan for review by the General Manager · Supports the Fair Manager and assists in the development of the County fair on an annual basis · Interacts with other SMG equestrian facilities to continue to enhance and support the national network · Attends appropriate planning, organizational, other events, and facility meetings in support of equestrian park and event center operations · Works flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays · Other duties as directed by the General Manager Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
